There are mainly 2 waterfalls in Kitulgala that can be used for waterfall abseiling, but my favourite is Sandun Ella. Waterfall abseiling at Sandun Ella lasts around 2 hours. Sanduk Ella is 30 meters in width and its height is 30 meters. The adventurers, who like to reach Sandun Ekla need to make an 8 km journey on foot. The walk on the narrow track which goes through the streams, patches of forests, plantations, and hamlets is very interesting. And it gives you the opportunity to spot dozens of different species of birds.
Hiking, trekking, and rainforest exploration
With a pristine forest cover of 1155 hectares, Mkandewa forest cover is one of the most valuable natural assets in Kitulgala. Makandewa rainforest is home to many dozens of fauna and flora. Makandewa forest cover offers a wide range of adventure activities for its visitors such as jungle trekking, hiking, and trekking. Makandewa rainforest is especially popular for bird watching in Sri Lanka. It is inhabited by a large number of avian fauna species; therefore, Makandewa rainforest is part of most Sri Lanka bird-watching tours. More than 54 species of birds can be witnessed in Makandewa rainforest.
Zip line adventure

Zip lining is relatively a new activity for Ella, however, it has been able to get the attention of adventure seekers in Sri Lanka within a short period of time. At the moment two-wire zip-line is available in Ella. Each of them is more than a half kilometre long. The sliding on this line takes at a speed of about 80 km per hour.
The zipline is established over the Ella gap. This area is covered with tea plantations, vegetable plots and thick green vegetation. The mountainous terrain in Ella has a very attractive landscape too. Therefore the travellers, who venture oin this adventure activity are not only able to absorb the adventure vibe of ziplining but also enjoy the beautiful landscape and vegetation above the ground.
